Strange White Webs Cover UK Town

Footage of silk-like material has caused a stir on the internet with some viewers blaming caterpillars and spiders for the mysterious web.

An unknown amateur filmmaker stumbled upon what looks like a scene out of a terrifying monster movie.

"There is a huge build up around the lamppost," he exclaims.

"Flowers totally covered. No radiation content. Totally mad."
It is not yet known where the short film was made, but it is believed to be a town somewhere in the north of England.
Some have claimed it is a giant web created by Ermine Moth caterpillars who cocoon vast areas of green space to protect food for their young.
A silk blanket is constructed to protect larvae from predators and parasites before they develop into hungry caterpillars.
